Judges and Volunteers

Business Professionals of America is a national student organization for students preparing for careers in business.  The Indiana Association has approximately 3,000 secondary students throughout the state.  The 2024 State Leadership Conference will be held on Sunday, March 10, to Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown.  At that conference, nearly 1,500 students will participate in over 50 competitive events--some objective, some computerized, and some judged.

We are looking for qualified people to help with the judged events at this year's conference.  If you would be willing to judge any event or have any questions, please email Carol Schwoeppe, Judge Coordinator, at cschwoeppe@indianabpa.org

Thank you in advance on behalf of all of Indiana's BPA members and advisors.  Your time and dedication to the training of our students will help shape Indiana's future business leaders!

Alumni

Are you a Business Professionals of America alumnus living in the state of Indiana?  Do you know someone who is?  Are you a chapter advisor still in contact with your former members?  Then let us know!

We all know that the vast majority of jobs are not advertised anywhere but are obtained through word of mouth.  And did you know that many sales people get 80-90% of their business through networking organizations?  Networking is not a new concept, but it is an important one so let's put our networking expertise to good use for our BPA students, past and present!

Developing the kind of career you really want takes exploration.  It takes research, reading, planning, and often a little help from others.  I am currently looking for BPA alumni to volunteer to offer career development and placement assistance to fellow BPA members. An alumni database would be an enormous asset to all of our BPA members in the state of Indiana!  Your commitment can be as simple as a phone conversation with a curious student.  Looking for more?  You can even offer to provide internships or perhaps serve as a mentor!

There are many ways you can help, including:

  • Mentoring
  • Provide Internships
  • Phone or Email Conversations
  • Personal Interviews
  • Tour Work Settings
  • Shadowing
